Climbing in the Himalaya & Karakorum of Pakistan

In May, 1997, Erik and Stan Havlick and nine other climbers ventured up the Baltoro Glacier in the highest Karakorum in northern Pakistan, one of the most rugged and remote regions in the world. Join Stan for a fascinating evening with a slide presentation that features quaint villages and unique cultural views of Central Asia as well as the mountain giants of the region - Paiju Peak, the Trango Towers, Uli Biaho, Muztagh Tower, the four Gasherbrum peaks, and the insuperable K2.

The team climbed to raise money for the Colorado Cancer Foundation and their successful ascent of 26,360-foot Gasherbrum II placed an astonishing nine team members on the summit.

Join Stan as he shares his tales and photos of this extraordinary adventure and unique cultural experience. Stan, who has lived or traveled on all seven continents, will also devote a portion of his program to answering your questions about the wonderful world of travel.
